Shawnee passes

This week has been Driver's Ed Range week. For some reason, Shawnee decided that 6 AM---yep I said AM to 8AM was the perfect time for her to sign up for it. In order to pick up her friend AND get to American Fork by 6, we had to leave the house at 5:30. Now..anyone that knows me at all--knows that I am NOT a morning person!!! Fortunately I only had to drive Tues/Thurs, but on Mon/Wed she still woke me to tell me she was leaving. I didn't get back to sleep before my alarm woke me for work at 6:30.

Today was a short day as it was test day also. I decided that with gas prices over $4 a gallon that I would "sleep" in the car and wait for her to finish up. About 6:15 I think I started to doze, and then the honking began. Apparently when you're in driver's ed you honk in between drills and honk twice before backing up. Let's see---8 cars times 20 drills...that's a LOT of honks. Well---I was NOT going to let that bug me...so I tried again. My leg fell off the center console and woke me up the 2nd time. Well---I thought 3rd times a charm and tried for some needed sleep again. I heard a bang bang bang....and then realized...the American Fork High School band practises starting at 7am. Wow...glad I don't live in THAT neighborhood!!!

Anyway--the results are in...and Shawnee passed with flying colors. She had a hard time with some of the drills as she drives my stick shift car and hadn't really driven an automatic much before...but by the end of the week, she had the hang of it. Now.....on to Range...and then in Oct...license time!!! Scary!

Way to go Shawnee. I'll keep the kids indoors for the next few months! I'm only kidding. I'm sure you are a better driver than most the adults out there!
