What a busy week! I guess that's what "normal" is. Let's see---orhtodontist appointments, soccer games, track meets---and that's just Kaylee! She's a busy little bee! We had a parents soccer game against Kaylee's soccer team Eclipse on Thursday. Devin and Shawnee both played on the parent's team...as did Jaycee for the last game. It was hard work and I've been sore for days. I've never actually played soccer--although I've watched many many many games! My kids were snickering and giving me helpful hints. It was fun....and now I know for sure....I'm out of shape!
Friday we celebrated my birthday at work. We all rotate giving the birthday gift. Sheena brought treats and gave me a gift certificate to Cafe Rio....yum! You bet Garrin and I used it on Saturday night! They did a mock disaster drill at work too. This time they used blow up dummies instead of high school drama kids. Let's just say that THIS drill was MUCH more enjoyable! Friday after work, 12 of us met at Red Robin to celebrate Natalie's upcoming wedding. It was great food and great company---we had a blast and laughed all evening! They asked the waiter to bring a Mud Pie and sang Happy Birthday to me.
Saturday morning we went to West Point
for my friend Lynn's wedding. It was nice although they planned it outside and it was rainy and cold. They had to move it indoors. By the time we got home we ran the girls to a few stores to look for shorts (as if it's EVER going to get warm here). Then all the girls went to Spanish Fork for a Eagle court of Honor and Garrin and I went to Cafe Rio to celebrate our birthdays! We got to the movies an hour early and decided to just skip them and come home. We had ice cream and watched Bedtime Stories. It was nice and quiet with just the 2 of us home! We're gearing up for another busy week full of soccer games and track meets (our last week for both I think).
Oh yes...and last but not least....my birthday was today. Garrin said Happy Birthday Beautiful 43 year old. Only problem is............I'm 42. Thanks Garrin. OUCH. Jaycee being the funny gal she is raided my closet again this year for my gift. She got out a birthday sack and placed a bunch of things in it for my birthday present. First, my king-sized candy bar that the Primary gave me today for my birthday, a candle that was in my closet for a gift, a broken-up sucker left over from Easter, a decorated pencil she found in my closet from a visiting teaching handout, and her hot pink fingernail polish. What more could a girl want? She makes me smile. It's the thought that counts, right? Thanks for my presents Jaycee---love you!
