Family Turkey Project

Everytime I've had a child in Mr. Madruga's 5th grade class (3 times now), we've had a project to decorate a huge paper turkey. We usually do it for Family Night. This is the one we helped Jaycee with. They are ALWAYS crazier than crazy---but lots of fun as all 6 of us HAVE to participate in some way. What a weird looking turkey!!!

Everyone gets drinks this way

Jaycee says it's a GREAT way to get a drink.....I guess everyone should try it. Just get a straw and put it on the end of your refrigerator drinking spout ...skip the glass---it'll cause more dishes! Caught her doing this today

With a corn cob pipe and a CUPCAKE nose....

Yep----I said a CUPCAKE nose....We woke up today to several inches of snow---much to everyone's disappointment! We are all ready for SPRING...especially after several days of 70 degrees!!! After school, Jaycee decided to build a little snowman and she had just baked some little cupcakes too--so she incorporated them into her little snowman.

YES--those are all my flowers peeking out from the snow. Hope it doesn't kill them all--tbey were starting to look so pretty. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Moving on to Nieces.........

Our niece Ashurity and Wes (and of course Pyper) came to visit us this weekend. She wasn't too sure about the girls hauling her around if her mama was in sight. She's a cutie. We didn't have tons of time to visit--but it was fun anyway. Ashley says she is next.....then what will we do?

Jaycee when nobody's watching

When I downloaded my pictures, I found this on my camera and HAD to post it. It's just too funny! This is apparently what Jaycee does when I'm not around and watching...how entertaining!

Here's another one I found.....

Play Day

I've been after my sister, Teresa, to come to my house for WEEKS on my days off! (We can only choose between Tuesdays and Thursdays---so it's hard!) She FINALLY made it up to the house. Jaycee and her youngest 3 had a great time playing in the sprinklers in the back. After awhile--they came running in the house and said they were FREEZING and wanted to get in the "hot tub". Not sure how they were freezing when it's close to 100 out there, bu we let them fill up the bathtub and they jumped in. They were so squished but sat in there long enough to warm up and then ran back out to play. Kids! l to r: Jaycee, Kennedy, Dawson, Bailey

While my sister was here, my UPS man delivered my box of fun Stampin' Up things! We just started selling "Decor Elements" which are vinyl lettering and artwork. I told her that she couldn't leave my house until we had this one up. We were both up on a ladder at least 10 feet in the air and reaching trying to get it on the wall "just right". I think we did a great job and I love how it looks.

My Favorite "Jesus" Stories

Before we switched our Ellis family website over to a blog (the one with all of Garrin's family) , I went through all 135 pages and pulled out all my comments...wow...it was 24 pages of my journal (since I didn't keep one..but just chatted with all the family lots!) I had forgotten SOOO many things

Here are my favorite "Jaycee and Jesus" stories.

Sep 9 2001 (Jaycee is 2 1/2)
This morning Jaycee crawled in bed with me...bringing along her 2 babies. I asked her what her baby's name was and she quickly replied "popsicle". I asked her again and she was firm on that one and knew exactly what she was saying! This is the popsicle queen---its the first thing she asks for when she wakes up in the morning AND at naptime....and about 20 times in between!

Anyway---I then asked her what the "other" baby's name was and she quickly replied "Jesus Christ, Amen". Don't know where we got her...but I informed her that it *probably* wasn't a good name for a baby and we settled on Kelly (since Shawnee and Kaylee both have dolls named that). Jaycee is getting too big for her britches! At least I know that she's paying attention when we help her say her prayers at night. LOL!

Nov 5 2001--At Halloween, while trick or treating, she saw a guy with a long face mask and long hair that was kind of scary looking. Not sure who he was suppose to be but she said..."I dont like that Jesus". I'm having a hard time explaining that every man with a beard isn't Jesus

Dec 10 2002 (Jaycee is a little over 3 1/2)
If you can't already tell what a funny kid Jaycee is...here's another example. Tonight I'm helping her with her prayers and trying to get her to say a little on her own. So I go for the fill in the blank help. I say..."I'm thankful for..." and she just sits there. I prompted her by saying "tell Heavenly Father what you are thankful for". She looks up at me and says "for CANDY!" Oh well---guess we'll try another day. LOL! I thought she'd say her family. Hehehehehehe.

Jan 27 2003
At church yesterday--Jaycee said to me..."MOM....I know how to READ now". Since she's 3 1/2...I said, "Really? Who taught you how?" She replied "Jesus did....while I was sleeping!"

Hideous

Jaycee fell at her friend's house and skinned up her face. She kept trying to hide her face---telling me all the time that it was HIDEOUS. I finally talked her into letting me take a picture.

She also loves her hair and does NOT want me to cut it. She likes that her bangs are in her eyes and loves the length
