Jaycee and I went to watch Kaylee's track meet. She ran the 200, the 400, and was scheduled to run the 4x400. However, it started raining so hard that they cancelled the last race. It sure was cold!!!! Devin stopped by just in time to see her run too. Go Kaylee---great job!

Here we go again!
THE GREAT BEFORE PICTURE...................

THE AFTER PICTURE.........

Kaylee got her braces back on again today She chose pink and black bands this time and did really well getting them on. I was really worried as she was REALLY sick with the stomach flu yesterday and I didn't think she'd be able to hold her mouth open that long with yucky things in her mouth like glue and all that. What a trooper! I think she looks cute with them on...but of course she doesn't. She's never had the bottoms on before so it's definitely something to get used to. Her teeth are pretty sore too.

Science Fair
Kaylee and her friend Bekah did a joint science fair project this year and went onto district. They tested boys and girls to see if there was a diffence in ability to complete certain tasks faster. Kaylee's friend Brianne also had her project too. None of them won any awards that night--but they had fun at least.

Kaylee is 14!
Happy Birthday to Kaylee! She turned 14 today and advanced to Mia Maids. She is excited that she can now go to EFY and Youth Conference and Stake Dances. We had a quiet day at home and church. Her YW leader brought over balloons and a bag of candy. Devin came out and we had cake and ice cream. She's growing up!!!

Let's Play Ball........

Kaylee joined an indoor soccer team with her regular outdoor team---Eclipse ---so they could get in shape for the upcoming season. Her first game was tonight. they play 4 on 4 on a little tiny field surrounded by nets. It's interesting some of the rules they have. For instance, if they kick the ball and it goes over 3 lines, it's a penalty. They have to really power it down as they are used to kicking it clear up the field. They can play off the walls, but if it hits the net then there is a free kick. The pictures are horrible because I was either shooting through the net or cheating and taking quick pictures in an area where I wasn't allowed :) She played keep about half the time and on the field half the time.

The Comedy of Errors
This is the backdrop for the play Comedy of Errors by Shakepeare that Kaylee was in. For some reason, I've had this post in DRAFT mode for the last month...yikes! She LOVED being in the play and was at the Junior High almost every day after school practising. She only had 5 lines this time....but has been bitten by the drama bug and is trying out for the musical Pirates of Penzance soon.
Some of the cast

Kaylee's hair that we spent about an hour on each time we curled it. Ithink we had to do it 5 different days and between hair and makeup---whew---it was a lot of work. Thanks to Shawnee who did it for me several days since I had to work

Kaylee had 2 parts in the play. She was "Luce" on the left---a servant. And on the right, she was a "player". The player puts on a mask and then acts out different scenes from the play---but with no speaking. She was mimicking one of the main characters---a guy :) HUGE thanks to Grandma Berger...without her...there would be no Kaylee in the play. This mom does not sew. Do you think we shoul dtell her about the upcoming auditions for the NEXT play??? hehehehe

Oh boy!
OH BOY!!! It's one of those Ellis traditions again. We decided that the girls could start wearing just eye make-up right before their 8th grade year. Kaylee has been bugging me to get her some...so we finally made it to the store. I've always told my girls that they were naturally pretty and didn't NEED make-up...but I guess they really want to grow up on me!!!

We started out with small lessons and had her practise...but we both started laughing when she was trying to put on eye shadow with both eyes SHUT. That will take some practise for sure!

Kaylee has been straigtening her beautful wavy hair for probably close to a year now. She has that great Ellis wave---but guess you always want what you don't have---and she wants it straight. When she was a baby--she had little ringlets of curl.
Here is another picture of the end result....Kaylee and her first make-up try....cute girl!
