Spring Break???

Well, I don't know if I'd say we had Spring Break this week, but more that we had a Break from Spring. The kids were out all week, but we mostly stayed home. We woke up on Thursday morning to one foot of snow outside...what a bummer! Kaylee was invited to go to Goblin Valley with her friend Brianne and went from Mon-Wed. Shawnee got to have her first cavity filled (I know...fun stuff on spring break!). I had to work my usual Tues, Wed and Friday since I didn't think ahead to ask off. I know---but I'm not used to working and having to ask off for holidays! I'll get better at it! Mom and Dad invited Jaycee to their house for a few days so she went on Tuesday-Thursday. Anyway, we had kind of a discouraging week to say the least, so we decided to call Devin to meet us for dinner and we went to Golden Corral. It was good to eat away our problems. HA! Well...at least for a few hours there, we didn't think about problems!

My brother Shane flew in from Texas on Fri night/Sat morning depending on how you look at it, so we went out to see him most of the day on Saturday. Teresa and I took the kids out to the "hot park" to get some energy out and I took a few pictures of them playing. It was our first REAL nice day! Just a little breezy---but we'll take it!

Kennedy found a worm. YUCK! She seemed to like him ok however. When it was time to go, she ran to the car with him. Fortunately, Teresa told her that his family would miss him and he needed to stay at the park. She believed it and put him under a tree.

Officially GONE

We drove around a bit today while doing some errands trying to see if we could find anywhere to put our new shop. Not much around if you want to stay in Lehi--which we do. We came the back way to the "old shop" as we now call it and and I gasped. Within seconds--Garrin gasped followed by the kids. It was gone.....all that is left of our old place is the mailbox. What a shock to see it gone after all this time. Kind of sad...but hopefully it'll be the start of something better for us!

Easter Time

I'm always running a little behind on my blog...good thing I can back date these to make it seem I'm on top of things! This year I got an unexpected check in the mail right before Easter and decided to get the girls a new Easter dress. It's been few years since we've done that...so thought it would be fun. Well....we left the house at 9:30 and after taking out a few hours for Kaylee's soccer game, we didn't get home until about 8 at night. Being that I'm not much of a shopper, that was a looong day! However, we were successful (even if we did have to take back quite a few things on Monday morning). Here are the girls in their Easter dresses

They had to endure lots of photos..which was a good thing since none of the outdoor ones turned out well. Then they had to take a picture with their Mom too! What a chore!

Weirdness Revisited...........

Shawnee has this weird hand thing going on...it's been happening for the last few years--but we've been trying to figure it out more recently. When she gets the SLIGHTEST bit cold, her fingers turn completely white. It's usually her middle finger, ring finger, and sometimes pinky. We took this picture to start documenting it and we want to figure out what is happening with it. I've talked to one of the Hand Specialists at work so we'll try to figure out why this is happening. Weird.

As usual, my camera always ends up with funny pictures on it. Here are Jaycee's latest funnies. Who knows why she does this...or what she was thinking. They are all taken one right after the other. Good for a laugh if nothing else.

All in One Conference/Birthday/ Easter Egg Hunt

Today is Jaycee's 10th Birthday!! I can't believe how time flies. Jaycee always keeps us entertained and we are so happy to have her in our family!!! She started out the day by wrapping her own present (she wouldn't wait long enough for me to do it) and then quickly ran into the kitchen to make her own birthday cake (wouldn't wait for me to help her with that either). Later at Grandma's, she wanted to frost and decorate it all by herself---what a helpful girl!

Before Conference---we were doing the dishes and cleaning up the kitchen. I realized that Jaycee was the only one missing in action. I called out to her to find her. When I asked why she wasn't down helping us she replied "because it's my birthday!" What a kid! She picked out a puppy dog Webkins for her birthday and a Pixo.

We arrived at Mom and Dad's house just as conference was ending (we have a tradition of loading up the car during the last song before the last speaker) and then listening to the last talk on the 30 minute drive there. In between sessions, we did our Easter Egg Hunt. Mom and Dad hide candy around outside and the kids all come away with a big sackful. Even the big kids participate.

Stefanie's Cousin Jordan (who is 2 days yonger than Devin) and who is attending UVU.
The kids play Conference Bingo that Grandma has all ready for them and they eat lots of candy. Here's Landon with his blue lips
Grandpa usually takes lots of pictures and so I decided to turn the camera on him...oops...are your eyelids closed Grandpa and Logan ? LOL! Secretly---I think we all took our turns "concentrating on the talks" with our eyes closed.
We ate lunch in between sessions and then had cake and ice cream for Jaycee's birthday afterwards. Here's Jaycee with her self-made and decorated cake. Devin's girlfriend Kiera was up from California was up here and came over to help us celebrate.

I'll let you in on another secret. Garrin and I beat Kiera and Devin in hand and foot. Dad and Landon were the overall winners and Jordan and Shawnee came in third.
Here are some random pics of conference...everyone loves to tease and play with Kennedy. Garrin would reach her to the ceiling and put her on his back.

Had to put this last one on...Kennedy at the Easter Egg hunt.

Daddy-Daughter Date

Today was the Daddy-Daughter date at the school. Because Garrin was in California, Jaycee asked Devin to come and take her. It was a 50's style dance--but we forgot to tell Devin that :)

They were there for about 1 1/2 hours as Devin's girlfriend was up from California and he was anxious to get back to see her, so they left about 45 min early. They talked and danced and ate brownies.

Jaycee talked Devin into buying her a light up toy that looks like a retainer. It goes in your mouth and blinks different colors. You can see a little bit of red in the picture below. At the end was a blackout dance, but they didn't stay that long. Jaycee walks around smiling with her teeth flashing. Funny sight!

Lehi Jr Track Meet

Jaycee and I went to watch Kaylee's track meet. She ran the 200, the 400, and was scheduled to run the 4x400. However, it started raining so hard that they cancelled the last race. It sure was cold!!!! Devin stopped by just in time to see her run too. Go Kaylee---great job!

With a corn cob pipe and a CUPCAKE nose....

Yep----I said a CUPCAKE nose....We woke up today to several inches of snow---much to everyone's disappointment! We are all ready for SPRING...especially after several days of 70 degrees!!! After school, Jaycee decided to build a little snowman and she had just baked some little cupcakes too--so she incorporated them into her little snowman.

YES--those are all my flowers peeking out from the snow. Hope it doesn't kill them all--tbey were starting to look so pretty. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

I Missed it!

Yesterday was the Draper Temple Dedication. We had gotten our recommends the week before and were excited because it was the first time all our kids were old enough to attend the dedication. We got there before the appointed time and I just sat down to listen...when I suddenly started feeling sick. Within 5 minutes, I had sweat pouring down my face and REALLY did not think I was going to make it! I kept trying to talk myself through it, but finally 15 min before it started, I had to get up and leave.

I sat on the couch in the foyer for about 30 seconds before realizing that I REALLY needed to get home---I was so sick! I made it to the car feeling like things around me were turning black and I thought I'd pass out. I sat in the car for about 30 seconds before high-tailing it home. Luckily we're just several blocks away. Anyway---slept for about an hour until the girls and Garrin got home...but felt kind of queasy the rest of the day and some of today too. Bummer! It's odd that it hit so quickly! The only thing I could figure is that we had fasted all day because of some decisions we needed to make and then came home and had to hurry and eat and get back to the church I don't know, but I'm sad that I missed it. Garrin and the girls thought it was really nice (although Jaycee admits that she fell asleep sometime during it)

Moving on to Nieces.........

Our niece Ashurity and Wes (and of course Pyper) came to visit us this weekend. She wasn't too sure about the girls hauling her around if her mama was in sight. She's a cutie. We didn't have tons of time to visit--but it was fun anyway. Ashley says she is next.....then what will we do?
